A passion for art in the studio

The process is an on-going team effort that involves talented frame-makers, carvers, metal makers, mirror experts, and artists under the guidance of Ann and direction of the Lenarduzzi Family. Almost any piece of furniture that might be desired is either in the Porte Italia catalog or subject to a client's specification, including beds, chairs, armoires, tables, chaises, chests, secretaries, cupboards, wall units, light fixtures, desks, vanities, as well as bed linens and hangings. These exclusively Made in Italy products are appreciated by renowned actors, directors, conductors, singers, and designers around the world who love the color and elegance afforded their villas, grand homes, exclusive hotels, and resorts from Hollywood and New York, to London, Russia, United Arab Emirates, India, and back to Switzerland and France.

It is not necessary to be famous to appreciate Porte Italia offerings; it is quite sufficient to have an appreciation of art, color and design elements reminiscent of the Ducale Palace in Venice, ancient Roman architecture, Florentine color, or Pompeian images. Decorations are a strength in the Collections. They may have come by way of a flower, ancient building walls, an antique ceramic tile, a church interior, a museum piece. Sometime they are best represented in relief using carving or raised gesso. Colors that might seem bold at first painting become wonderfully muted when subjected to accelerated aging and patination in a most skilled manner. Artistic skill is required in the application of each successivelayer, starting with primer, then coats of gesso, base color, decoration, the wear coat, and finally, varnish coats in carefully chosen hues.

Porte Italia responds faithfully to the requirements of clients, designers and architects. They are encouraged to supply the Company samples of room furnishings, along with color and decoration desired. On occasion our designers suggest alternative choices. These are incorporated into the piece by Porte Italia staff. The client has the freedom of choice of dimension, color and decoration that insures uniqueness. Each completed piece is branded, showing the number and year of production. Whole rooms and walls can be produced in similar fashion.
